Dr. Kerry Kelly is a professional engineer and an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Utah. She has a PhD in Environmental Engineering and a BS in Chemical Engineering.  She served 8 years on Utah’s Air Quality Board and currently serves on the state’s Air Quality Policy Advisory Board together with state legislators.  She is passionate about understanding and addressing Utah’s air-quality challenges. Her research focuses on three areas: (1) linking combustion particle physicochemical properties to toxicological endpoints, (2) understanding the connections between energy, air quality and health, and (3) using low-cost air-quality sensing to understand local-scale, air quality differences, engage students, and understand and improve sensor performance.
